Imitations of Drowning

This is a triptych of collages (each measuring 8"x11") made with found vintage ephemera, archival art paper, glue and hand stitching. See last photo to see all images together.

These pieces were inspired by one of my favorite poems by Anne Sexton, "Imitations of Drowning".

This August I began to dream of drowning.

I grapple with eels like ropes.

In the end it's fear that drowns you.
