another winter poem

Today is Langston Hughes' birthday,  I first read his poetry during my 7th or 8th grade year and had this quote of his written on the front my school notebook

Hold fast to dreams,
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird,
That cannot fly.

Though I will certainly never be the poet Hughes was, I will hold fast!
In honor of a great man born today, sharing a poem written today
