Changing it up

For whatever reason, painting has been going very, very slow with the start of the new year.  Collaging on the other hand, has been exciting for me.  I'm trying to be more daring in that area and break from my "severe minimalism" for a while and work more with different backgrounds and adding more paint, and other mediums to the mix.  Here are a few new pieces, one done at the end of 2013 and the rest all from 2014.  These pieces were all created using pages of a 1940's college annual as the background.

The Swifts

This one really makes more sense with this wonderful poem I found

“Time is
Too Slow for those who Wait,
Too Swift for those who Fear,
Too Long for those who Grieve,
Too Short for those who Rejoice;
But for those who Love,
Time is not.”
― Henry van Dyke

Sparrow Worship

Swan Song

A reminder to myself to accept inspiration in whatever form it chooses to arrive!
