The process of collage

When I first started working in collage years and years ago, I was always searching for perfect images for the perfect collage which lead to lots of searching, frustration and and okay end result.  Over the years, I've grown more and more fond of what I can do with the scraps left after "other" collages are complete.

Here is an example, the top collage was initially the main focus when I started cutting up images from my stash of magazines.  It went through quite a few phases before this end result and I am satisfied with it.
Vowel Mind

The second collage below, is from the scraps of the top collage and for whatever reason, I'm even happier with the end result of it.

Transpose

Alas, as the scraps become more "valuable" even less gets thrown away and the studio remains in a constant state of works in progress...

It´s interesting to read about your working process and progress. I love both results, definitely - although they are looking different. I guess the second way to create collages is more like a flow, handling things that happens. I like both ways of beeing creativ.

Love both of them! I wonder if you feel more freed up for the "leftover" collage at the end because you don't have any expectations and are just exploring.
