Wanda S. Ames, September 26, 1942, camouflaged in an apple tree.

One of my flickr friends was kind enough to allow me to paint from her set of photos she had of the real Wanda S. Ames.  Just from the few photos I've seen of her, Wanda appears to have been what I call a "real character".  I love discovering people like this!

A character indeed...this piece makes me wish I'd known her (and her cat)!

I'm happy to get such a good response to the painting, Wanda became more and more dear to me the longer I studied her photos and worked on this piece. Thank you all for your nice comments!
