I think the very first story, about the pet man, is the one that got to me most.yasminhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02347386322304198631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18741888.post-966981383987770212010-11-30T19:48:58.830-05:002010-11-30T19:48:58.830-05:00Thank you for commenting, James! "Ironhead" is a terribly beautiful story, and your collage is a wonderful extension of its mood.

My favorite Bender story is "Dearth" (a woman finds herself with four potatoes for children? It inexplicably made me cry).Jamesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18741888.post-15694107730465450802010-10-30T10:49:01.802-04:002010-10-30T10:49:01.802-04:00Thank you for such a nice comment! I think it's fascinating. The ironhead story reminded me of an old Daphne du Maurier story about a woman whose head is a deer head. I can't remember the name of it but I think it was in the 'Don't Look Now & Other Short Stories' collection. Do you know it? I'll have to check out Aimee Bender.sheilahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07124669946797744034noreply@blogger.com
